Hello! My name is Sr.
Mary Margaret Droege, and I am a Sister of Notre Dame.
I have taught in the Dioceses of Covington, Lexington,
and Cincinnati. Most of
my teaching has been in grades 5-8 especially in science
and math. I also served
as a principal and a diocesan consultant in religion. I
served in administration in
the Sisters of Notre Dame and thus was not in education
for a number of years.
In March 2004, I began teaching English (grades 5, 6, and
7) part-time at
St. Augustine School.
I attended St. Agnes Elementary and Notre Dame Academy. I
received my BA
from Thomas More College and my Masters in Education from
the
University of Kentucky. I took additional courses at
Xavier University and received
a Rank I in Administration.
I enjoy gardening and reading history based stories and
popular science. While in
administration in my community, I was able to visit
India, several European countries,
and our mission in Uganda, East Africa.
In recent years, I have developed a love of writing. This
is amazing because in
elementary school I did not like to write. In my English
classes, I hope to encourage
students, not only to become better writers, but to enjoy
writing.
I enjoy teaching at St. Augustine School because of the
friendly atmosphere and
because of the focus on students. St. Augustine School
encourages students to
develop in all areas, not just academics. There is a
spirit of all working together:
principal, teachers, parents, students, and community.
