ST. MONICA SOCIETY All women of the parish over the age of 18 are members of the St. Monica Society. This group has always been an active part of our parish and school support. Besides co-sponsoring the Fish Fries, St. Monica also hosts a Euchre Tournament in the gym on the third Saturday of each month that brings players from the entire area. Meetings are held on the third Tuesday each month at 7:30 in the gym and are preceded by the rosary and followed by snacks and cards. The St. Monica and the Holy Name Society also sponsor and host our parish family basket picnic and adult Christmas party. Women of all ages are invited to become active members of the St. Monica Society.
BOOSTERS CLUB The Boosters Club provides an athletic program for students belonging to our parish and financial support for a variety of needs of our parish school. This year the Boosters Club will sponsor over 15 basketball, baseball, softball and volleyball teams along with two basketball leagues and an instructional basketball league. Each year the Boosters Club offers two partial scholarships to a Catholic high school to our graduating eighth graders. The annual Nite at the Races, Toy Bingo and the basketball leagues are their main fundraisers. The Boosters Club meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 in the gym. All parents of students and parishioners interested in coaching or assisting with teams or just supporting our school are urged to join the Boosters Club.
PATHFINDERS Seniors of the parish and their friends 60 years of age and over are invited to be part of the Pathfinders. Primarily a social group, the Pathfinders meet on the first Monday of each month at 1:30 in the gym with dessert and cards. They enjoy many activities including a picnic in September, a Christmas party and both day and overnight bus trips. The most recent trip was to Rough River State Park.
YOUTH GROUP The Youth Group was active in our parish for those in the 8th grade through high school for many years. They met once a month with a variety of activities at meetings including sports, speakers and films with discussion. The Youth Group sponsored many fundraisers and social events including car washes, bonfires, camping trips, Reds game outings and overnight lock-ins. They were active in the community by helping families at Christmas, picking up litter around the church and planting and caring for the grassy medians in our area. Unfortunately the Youth Group was disbanded about five years ago for lack of adult involvement. All adults, especially young adults, possibly past youth group members are encouraged to become involved as leaders so that the Youth Group can be active again.
