Title Reading - Mrs. Schmidt
jschmidt@staugustines.net
My name is Janet Schmidt. I am a life-long member of St. Augustine Parish. I attended St. Augustine School. I then went on to Notre Dame Academy. I received my Bachelor's Degree in elementary education from NKU and my Master's from Xavier. I am married to Don and we have two children, Andrea, who attends Notre Dame Academy and Adam who attends Covington Catholic.

I am a part-time Title I Reading teacher. I enjoy reading mystery novels, jogging, being outdoors and volunteering.

I like teaching at St. Augustine because it is a Catholic environment full of people who care about children, who strive to meet the needs of the children and who work together in the image of Jesus. Our school is composed of many different kinds of children, parents, teachers and staff who have many gifts to offer. This variety offers many life-giving lessons. Our school helps students who need extra help and challenges students who are ready for more learning!!! I like the family atmosphere of a small school - we care about each other - help one another and pray for one another. We are a school that touches all areas of the curriculum. Always remembering that Jesus is our most important teacher.

My own message - read with your child...read to your child...let your child see you reading!!! Visit the public library. The children's section of the Covington branch is wonderful and the librarians are super helpful.

There are many authors who have their own Web sites. Jan Brett, Carol Hurst, Eric Carle. Check them out!
